Q: Are you advocating link spamming?
A: No but Google is. Google's algorithm is based solely on backlinks and because of that, majority of search engine optimization efforts is now done in link building field. Competition is really hard so webmasters are getting links where ever they can. This can sometimes result link spam when webmasters get lazy and use automated tools unwisely.

SEOBDB.com is a database of websites, just like Google, Yahoo and Bing. We just have a little bit different rules which websites we include in the database.

We advice all our members to use their brains when link building. If you link spam popular forum, it will only decrease your website's perceived value and bring you bad reputation. So be smart and respect other webmasters.

Q: Can I get banned from search engines if I build links too fast?
A: You can't get banned but you can get penalized. Link spammers use automated tools and many times they don't have the patience to be smart with them. Search engines know this and they can flag your website as potential link spammer if your link building is unnatural & way too fast.

Q: Are the links in the database follow or nofollow links?
A: Both. If you have followed forum conversations you know that there's much debate if nofollow is as bad as some people make it to be. We thought about this and decided that it's best to not discriminate links based on follow status but instead list both and let you know if the link in the target is nofollow or follow. Then it's up to you if you want to get that link. We try to get this info for as many targets as we can. Follow links have indicator and nofollow link has indicator. If link doesn't have either one, it means we haven't yet verified which one it is.

Links are not only for ranking purposes. Some links can bring significant amount of very targeted traffic and then it doesn't matter if it's nofollow or follow.

Q: Why you don't have [platform/site type] at all in your database?
A: First of all, unless it's a really popular platform or site type like Wordpress, vBulletin or SMF, just tell us the name of the platform now! We will get those links for you if you just let us know about it.

We do have HUGE list of platforms already in queue and we are going through that queue as we speak so be patient. But if you submit your request it will act as a vote for that platform. Then we of course prioritize the queue list based on what you guys want. So be active and you'll get the links faster!

Q: How many links per day should I do?
A: There isn't one single answer for this. We recommend that you don't go over 100 per day. Some people claim that it's impossible for search engines to know when certain link was created and this is true if you talk about very static sites that don't get crawled very often. However sites that get crawled daily are totally different thing and if you get links only from high PR sites try to vary the amount of links per day and keep it natural. With high PR sites it's much more likely that they get crawled very often so better be safe than sorry.

Q: Should I use always exact keyword as anchor text to maximize the link juice for certain keyword?
A: Absolutely not. If all your links use the same anchor text it's very easy to detect and unless it's the name of your site, it looks very spammy. We recommend that you do multiple variations of your anchor text that still support your target keyword.
